Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Last updated September 15, 2026

CollegeCompass360 is paid by schools and education providers for introducing you to them, which counts as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under several state privacy laws. This page is how you stop it, and how you exercise your other privacy rights.

Opt out of sale or sharing

There are two ways, and neither requires an account:

  1. Turn on Global Privacy Control (GPC). Most privacy-focused browsers and extensions can send it. We treat it as an opt-out for that browser: no analytics or advertising pixels load at all, and if you send a request while it is on, we record the signal alongside it.
  2. Email us. privacy@collegecompass360.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share” and the email address and phone number you used. We will confirm within 10 business days and action it within 45 days.

Opting out does not undo a request already passed to a school. To stop that school contacting you, reply STOP to its texts, use the unsubscribe link in its emails, or tell a caller. Our partners page names everyone we share with.

Your other rights

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia — and anyone else who asks — may request the following. We honour them regardless of where you live.

Limit use of sensitive personal informationThe only sensitive information we ask for is whether you are a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, the question is optional, and we use the answer solely to route your request. Ask and we will delete it.Email us

How we verify a request

We match the email address and phone number against the request we hold. If they do not match, we may ask for one more detail from your submission, such as your ZIP code or the field of study you chose. We will never ask you for a Social Security number, a copy of an ID, or payment. If we cannot verify you, we will say so and explain why.

Authorised agents

Someone may act for you if they provide written permission signed by you, or a power of attorney. We may still contact you directly to confirm.

Timing, and appealing a decision

We confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If a request is complex we may take one further 45 days and will tell you why. If we decline, reply to our decision with the word appeal and we will review it and answer within 45 days. If we still decline, you may complain to your state attorney general.

What happens to your data either way

We keep lead records for 36 months and then anonymise or delete them. Your request is stored and emailed using systems shared with NoGigiddy.com, run by the same business, so a deletion request covers both. We never charge for any of this and we will not treat you differently for asking.
